Rotary Club Writing Competition

May 5, 2016

The Rotary Club of Stockport Lamplighter hold a prestigious writing competition for children in schools in Greater Manchester and Green End took part. There were over thirteen entries for the competition.

The competition was split into two with the infants creating a poem entitled 'My Best Friend' and the Juniors writing a persuasive text on the stimulus 'Are Presents the Most Important Thing at Christmas?

We are delighted to confirm that Charice in Year 3 achieved first place and a child in Year 2 also achieved first place for the Infants. We would like to thank the Rotary Club of Stockport Lamplighter for the opportunity to take part and for the generous £25 prize that the children received.

We would also like to give credit to our runners up Alex in Year 6, Seyam Year 2, Marayam Y4 and Aleeza Year 1. At Green End we are extremely proud of our young writers. Their passion and dedication has really paid off.
