Big Burnage Animal and Lantern Parade takes place!

A group of parents/carers and children at Green End made masks ready for the ‘Big Animal and Lantern Parade’ on Friday. This was a new community event and if successful could become bigger in the future.

Lots of families were involved, lining the pavements along the route and joining in with the entertainment at the end. The Lord Mayor of Manchester also came along!

As part of the Parade, we joined in with workshops with professional artists in local schools to create two large animal structures that were carried on the parade.

The parade set off along Burnage lane, and arrived at Burnage Academy at 7pm, where there was a performance by Carnival Dancers and drummers, and a very special elephant.
