Getting Ready to Start School

Starting Nursery

Your child will start Nursery part time for at least the first two weeks.

  • Use the toilet by themselves.

  • Follow simple instructions linked to the daily class routine.

  • Communicate with a member of staff in Nursery.

  • Say goodbye to you at the classroom door and settle into the Nursery day.

  • Drink from an open cup or a sports-lid water bottle.

  • Play on their own without adult support.

  • Eat snacks or meals by themselves.

By the Wednesday of your child’s second week of school  you will be informed about whether your child will be attending full time the following week.
