Friends of Green End Primary 

What is the Friends of Green End?

We are the Parents, Teachers and Friends Association for Green End Primary School. We are a registered charity (no. 1203407) and our mission is to raise funds for and strengthen a sense of community within our school.

 

We have ongoing Parentkind membership which supports us with governance, charity compliance and insurance and maximises national fundraising opportunities such as the Cashpots for Schools initiative.

Joining In!


All parents and grandparents of children at the school are automatically part of the Friends of Green End; you don’t have to do anything to join!

The committee acts as the steering group and appointed legal trustees of the charity. We are parent volunteers ourselves (and make no personal financial gain from being trustees) but we can’t do very much without lots of parents and teachers supporting us to make events and activities happen. 

​

We are always keen to hear your ideas for events and activities that will raise funds for and/or strengthen community in the school. We would especially love to hear from you if you have any special skills, expertise or connections that could benefit our fundraising efforts. 

​

We hold an Annual General Meeting every October/November and regular coffee mornings – it would be great to see you there! The meetings are a great opportunity to find out what’s happening in school and raise items for discussion. 
 

What do we do?

The Friends of Green End committee organises a busy programme of social and fundraising events and activities.

Regular events/ activities include:

  • Christmas fair

  • Summer fair

  • Eid celebration

  • Cake sales

  • Egg hunt

  • Reading challenges

 

Our activities raise funds for resources and facilities that the Executive Headteacher brings to our attention to enrich the life of the school, such as:

  • A new sound system for the school hall

  • Fixing the lighting in the school hall

 

The wide range of events and activities, and the benefits they bring to the whole school, are made possible by the enthusiasm and dedication of many parents and friends of the school. We hope you can spare the time to help.
