Schools of Sanctuary statement - Kingsway Community Trust schools

We are aware of some misinformation on social media and in some press, relating to the Schools of Sanctuary Charitable Organisation. This originated from some work which a number of schools in Northern Ireland were allegedly doing, which has been proven to be completely untrue. This was featured on the BBC news website. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c0r70egwkjko.amp

In our schools, we would never undertake any work which compromises the safeguarding of the children, which is always our utmost and highest priority.

Having received the  School of Sanctuary Award means our Kingsway Community Trust schools have shown a clear commitment to making sure every child and family feels welcomed, safe, and supported to thrive. Safeguarding is our highest priority.

The Schools of Sanctuary recognition celebrates the inclusive work we do for all the children in our schools.  We are proud to be schools where every child feels safe, where individual needs are understood, and where pupils are equipped to be kind and thoughtful members of our community. Our schools welcome and support children and families fleeing conflict, persecution, and hardship.

Welcome from the Executive Headteacher (CEO)

I am delighted to welcome you to Green End Primary, a vibrant and friendly school where children enjoy the exciting range of opportunities and make excellent progress.

Green End is part of Kingsway Community Trust, which also consists of Cringle Brook Primary in Levenshulme and Ladybarn Primary in Withington. As part of the Trust, Green End benefits from strong links with these two schools.

As Executive Headteacher across the Trust,  and having been Headteacher of Green End since 2007, I am passionate about enabling all children in our local communities to have the very best possible educational opportunities. I have extremely high expectations of all the children, both in terms of their academic achievement and their emotional and social development.

The curriculum we provide at Green End is tailor made to give all children a thirst for learning, a motivated engagement in school and the best chance to attain high academic success. There is a strong emphasis on developing confidence and skills to be excellent communicators in all situations. Our school has a very strong sense of community, with nurture and strong relationships at its core.
